Astaire’s dancing on the ceiling and partnering with a hat rack, and his dynamite duet with Powell, “How Might You Trust Me While I Uttered I Loved You were both classics. Cast includes Fred Astaire, Jane Powell, Peter Lawford, Sarah Churchill, Keenan Wynn, and Albert Sharpe. (92 minutes, 1951)

Hockey Night: A gal goal keeper makes the boys’ hockey team in a tiny Canadian town. This film is unexceptional although still likable, and superlative non exploitation fare for pre and early adolescents. Cast includes Megan Follows, Rick Moranis, Gail Youngs, Yannick Bisson, Henry Ramer, and Sean McCann. (77 minutes, 1984)

Fantasia 2000: Update of the 1940 Disney milestone agonizes from the truth that wedding music and icons are longer unique. Television type host intros don’t help however there are a number of amusing parts. Cast includes James Algar, Gaetan Brizzi, Paul Brizzi, Hendel Butoy, Francis Glebas, Eric Goldberg, Don Hahn, Steve Martin, Bette Midler, James Earl Jones, and Quincy Jones. (75 minutes, 2000)

Slam: Exceptional filmmaking method makes this tale of a D.C ghetto sufferer appear positively genuine from start to finish. Sent to jail, he has an arising there and fathoms that he can’t persevere, or condone, the endless cycle of bloodshed in his society, and uses his present for poetry as an channel. Cast includes Saul Williams, Sonja Sohn, Bonz Malone, Dude Sia, and Lawrence Wilson. (103 minutes, 1998)

Down to Earth: Terpsichore, the Goddess of Dance (Hayworth), comes to the planet to help Parks with his mythological lyrical play. Rita’s beauty is only positive holding of this hack lyrical. Cast includes Rita Hayworth, Larry Parks, Marc Platt, Roland Culver, James Gleason, and Edward Everett Horton. (101 minutes, 1947)

Lost Continent: Lavish production values are evidently requiring as Romero leads journey to prehistoric mountaintop to recoup missing rocket, and confronts dinosaurs. Cast includes Cesar Romero, Hillary Brooke, John Hoyt, Whit Bissell, Sid Melton, and Acquanetta. (86 minutes, 1951)

The Hanoi Hilton: What might have been a genuine attempt to emphasize the plight of American POWs in Vietnam gets to be an unbearably unexciting, impossibly overlong, and embarrassingly stereo typed drama, which does a genuine disservice to its subject and tosses in right wing politics and pot shots at Jane Fonda to boot. Cast includes Michael Moriarty, Paul LeMat, Jeffrey Jones, Lawrence Pressman, Stephen Davies, David Mind, and Rick Fitts. (130 minutes, 1987)

Chicago Deadline: Conceivably top notch actioner weighs down in stereo types, with Ladd as crusading journalist in corruptionfilled city. Cast includes Alan Ladd, Donna Reed, June Chaos, Irene Hervey, Arthur Kennedy, and Shepperd Strudwick. (87 minutes, 1949)
